Lannie sent this poem last year to honor the memory of my son

little did I know I would be honoring her memory with it a year later.

You have left behind so many friends who love you.

We miss you dearly, our cajun girl friend.

"Life Without You"

Life without you seems so different

There's a void that's as big as the sky.

God sent his angels to take you

And still we keep wondering why.

Your life here on earth had such meaning

From the love and the kindness you shared.

And everyone who ever knew you

Had not a doubt that you cared.

Those of us left behind still remember

How you touched us in your special way.

We miss your sweet smile and your laughter

And we wish you were with us each day

The pain in our hearts can't be measured

We sometimes don't know what to do.

That's when we ask God to help us

Make it through life without you.

The Gifts of Very Best Friend

A lifetime of Love in a hug and a smile,

A reason to visit and stay for a while,

The strength of a bond that's destined to last,

The joy of the present,the warmth of the past-

These are the treasures a fortunate few

Are lucky to cherish all their lives through-

These are the blessings on which we depend,

For these are the gifts of a very best friend.

He's Always Right!

God has blessed me in so many ways,

With a wonderful family to brighten my days

A family that loved me and stayed by my side,

A son and a daughter, along for the ride.

Many grandchildren to fill out the clan

They're all a part of GOD'S Heavenly plan

I've made my deposit, to the bank here on earth.

That's how we are measured by what we are worth.

Then GOD gave me friends and said, "Now you have wealth.

I've given you much, but I won't guarantee health.

Your family and friends will watch over you.

And fill you with laughter whenever you're blue."

Then I answered, "GOD, I don't want to sound brash,

But I wish YOU would have included a little more cash.

GOD then roared with laughter and said, "Don't you know?

You can't take it with you when I say Let's Go.

Then I looked at my family and then my friends too,

And realized what GOD said, really was true

If you have your family and someone to call friend,

That's all you will need, right up to the end.

So, no more complaining, I have my gold mine,

I'll just ride life's train to the end of the line.

And at the Heavenly Depot, I won't have a care.

Cause GOD gave me enough to pay the full fare.

And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers

that are here today and gone tomorrow,

won't he more surely care for you?

Jesus Cares...

how do I know?

The butterfly tells me so;

He spreads his tiny wings above

and knows each flight is watched with love.

And then the sparrow fills the air

with praise for such a father's care;

While lilies,dressed in kings' array,

Dance the afternoon away--

And then a thought comes silently:

He cares for these...

He cares for me.

Jehovah himself is caring for you!

Our faith is like the sunshine

and our prayers are like the rain

From which the dormant flowers

draw the strength to bloom again...

And so it is with our lives....

It requires both faith and prayer

To strengthen us and lift us up

To flourish in God's care....

Just like the rain and sunshine

Coax the flowers from the sod,

So faith and prayer can nourish us

And help us grow toward God.
