The Heart of The Matter

Do you know me - really know me? Can you tell me what you see? Do you see inside my soul to the very heart of me?

How can you perceive what you think you find within if you haven’t suffered with me, never been where I have been?

Have you walked beside my shadow, known the secrets I have kept? Have you hidden in the darkness, seen the tears that I have wept?

Have you felt my loneliness, prayed for just a loving touch? When you ask me how I’m doing, do you really care that much?

Have you felt complete betrayal, longed for someone you could trust? Do memories haunt you day and night; a sentence so unjust?

How can you say you care if you do not realize that a tiny child within me is forever paralyzed?

This is actually the second page of child abuse links that I have done, But I decided to put it first. Because I do not feel as if I expressed my heart in the way that I wanted.

Child abuse used to be called the "silent epidemic", in manys ways it still is. Too many people cringe when they hear any of the terms connected with child abuse, especilly when it comes to sexual abuse. They would rather hide their head in the sand... than to face the TRUTH that we are destroying our children.
Incidents of child abuse have not decreased... they have increased, with more and more ending up in the death of an innocent child.
Wether we are abusers, or if we are ones who bury our heads in the sand or turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the cries of these innocent children, We are allowing our children to be beaten, bruised,and murdered. Not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
Did you know you can kill a child with your thoughtless words? Did you know you can kill a child and his/her body still be alive? They are the walking dead. We are killing our children every day... I know, I WAS one of them!! Someday I will tell my story on these pages. It is not as horrible as other stories, The damage is hard to see, but wether we want to admit it or not, the damage can, and many times does, affects us for the rest of our lives. Never minimize your own pain by comparing your expierence with others... if you have pain it is just as real to you as theirs is to them. The damage done may be to different degrees, but the pain is still real. What can we do? WE MUST Not keep our silence- we must speak out, yell out, scream out, We MUST make our voices heard... For we may be the only voice some of thesechildren have! Let not the innocent victims be forgotten!!!!!
